Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Evaluation and Research, the Evaluation and Research Specialist engages in timely, rigorous, and utilization-focused evaluation and research projects that advance cultures of Native American community health. A successful Evaluation and Research Specialist will contribute to NB3 Foundation’s collective team efforts by contributing to ongoing evaluation and research projects, conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, and communicating evaluation and research findings for various audiences in a variety of formats. In addition to providing administrative support for planning and implementation of evaluation and research conversations/meetings and assisting in communication with partners, event planning and implementation, the specialist will track and oversee the program team meetings and calendars, conduct and share research, and initiate consultant contracts and invoices. The ideal candidate will be able to work both as a team player and independently on projects and is able to distill facts and research into meaningful, big picture ideas using both narrative and visual tools.
DETAIL OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collect data and provide analysis on NB3 Foundation programs and community partner programs
- Design studies, including methodological and theoretical design of research projects, literature reviews, data collection plans, analysis plans, and reporting/communication plans
- Prepare reports for internal and external use in user-friendly, accessible formats including creating presentations, written reports, and data visualizations of evaluation and research results
- Provide data and outcome information for proposal writing
- Manage and maintain databases using internal systems
- Monitor evaluation and research trends and technologies to ensure best practices for NB3 Foundation
- Assist in creating tools, including online toolkits, for Native American communities and partners to easily use and understand, such as community health assessments, youth sport Knowledge Kits (surveys) and nutrition scorecards
- Interface with consultants, community partners and staff to ensure successful program evaluation and research and implementation of recommendations
- Collaborate with department and organization staff in event planning and facilitation
- Schedule virtual and in-person meetings with internal and external allies
QUALIFICATIONS
- Awareness and keen appreciation of Native American cultures, sensitivity to cross-cultural differences, and ability to work effectively within this context
- Experience coordinating evaluation and/or applied research projects
- Strong collaborator with ability to build and develop long term relationships with internal colleagues and external partners
- The ability to work efficiently and effectively both autonomously and in small teams
- Ability to use basic statistical and qualitative methods to analyze, interpret, and report on data
- Experience and/or training in qualitative or mixed-methods research
- Project planning and execution (projects to successful completion)
- Attention to detail and strong logical reasoning
- Strong organization and follow-through skills in individual and collaborative work
- Demonstrated skills in writing for multiple audiences including policymakers and practitioners
- Data entry and data management skills
Compensation, benefits, and workplace
The salary for this position is $52,000 with a benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, employee assistance plan, and retirement plan with a 3% company match. NB3 Foundation full-time employees currently enjoy a 36-hour work week and a hybrid office schedule, working from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the Foundation office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of NB3FIT, the NB3FIT Basketball Specialist leads the development and implementation of all basketball programming and supports implementation of all other NB3FIT programs. This position works closely with the Director of NB3FIT as well as Evaluation and Research department staff in the ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of NB3FIT programming. In collaboration with the Director of NB3FIT and other NB3FIT Program Coordinators, this position will help ensure NB3FIT programs effectively promote the Foundation’s four core areas.
DETAIL OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead all aspects of NB3FIT basketball programs including, but not limited to, Basketball Skills Clinics, the NB3FIT basketball league, and NB3FIT basketball team(s)
- Develop, implement, revise and refine basketball curriculum to ensure effective support participants’ development of the Foundation’s four core areas
- Assist with implementation of curriculum for all NB3FIT programs
- Assist with development of curriculum for all NB3FIT programs
- Set up and take down of tables, tents, supplies etc. for all NB3FIT programs/events
- Collect, organize and maintain program data (Knowledge Kits, attendance, etc.)
- Recruitment and registration of NB3FIT program participants
- Communication and collaboration with Evaluation and Research staff to support program evaluation
- Participate in and contribute to all NB3FIT program meetings and NB3 Foundation staff Meetings
- Communicate with participant families about program updates, participant progress, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Significant basketball experience and expertise gained through playing in youth clubs, high school, and/or college. Previous coaching experience is highly desired.
- Experience working with underserved populations in sport settings, particularly with Native American youth.
- Background in leadership development through sport and/or sport as an agent for social change in underserved populations.
- Intermediate skill in the use of computer technology such as Microsoft Word, Excel, e-mail, and database management
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with people of all backgrounds and ability levels.
- Knowledge of Native American culture and pertinent social issues pertaining to Native American/Alaska Natives.
- Ability to represent the Foundation in a professional manner, building respect and confidence in the organization.
- Ability to listen to concerns of participants, staff, parents and coaches and takes specific actions and provides feedback.
