To date, NB3 Foundation has invested more than $10 million into Native communities, including 127 grants to over 80 Native-led and tribal organizations in over a dozen states. Position Summary 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and persuasive Grant Writer to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is responsible for researching funding opportunities, writing and submitting compelling grant and sponsorship proposals, and maintaining relationships with funders. The ideal candidate has a track record of successful grant writing, excellent research skills, excels at translating mission-driven work into compelling narratives, works well independently, and has a passion for ensuring Native children achieve their full potential. 

 DETAIL OF RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Research and identify new grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies aligned with our mission and programs 

• Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, sponsorship requests, and funding applications 

• Develop and maintain a grants calendar to track deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements 

• Collaborate with program staff to gather data, outcomes, and stories that strengthen proposals and reports 

• Prepare and submit timely grant reports to funders, including narrative and budget components 

• Maintain accurate records of grant submissions, awards, and correspondence in our donor/grants database 

• Build and maintain relationships with program officers and funder contacts 

• Assist with other development and fundraising tasks as needed 

QUALIFICATIONS  

• Awareness and keen appreciation of Native American cultures, sensitivity to cross-cultural differences, and ability to work effectively within this context 

• 2+ years of experience in grant writing or a related nonprofit development role 

• Demonstrated success securing grants from foundations, corporations, and/or government sources 

• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to translate program work into a compelling narrative 

• Strong research and organizational skills; comfortable managing multiple deadlines 

• Experience with budget development and financial reporting for grants 

• Familiarity with grant databases and prospect research tools  

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience 

• Passion for advancing Native youth health  

Compensation, benefits, and workplace 

The pay rate for this position is $35 per hour with a benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, employee assistance plan, and retirement plan with a 3% company match. This position is budgeted for 24 hours per week with an in-office schedule of 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
