Safety, fun and meaningful engagement are always at the center of NB3 Foundation programming and community events. To further strengthen that commitment, staff recently took an extra step to ensure they are prepared to support youth, families and communities in any situation.

On March 18, 11 staff members and three volunteer coaches completed an eight hour First Aid, CPR and AED certification course through the National Safety Council. This training helps ensure our team is prepared to respond to first aid needs that may arise during programming, practices or community events.

While coaches regularly complete trainings through various organizations to stay up to date on safety and health best practices, this opportunity expanded that preparedness across the NB3 Foundation team. Staff members across departments often support programs, attend events and engage with youth and families in different settings. Having additional team members trained in First Aid and CPR helps ensure we are ready to respond when needed.

With a majority of staff now certified, the NB3 Foundation is even better equipped to support safe, positive environments for Native youth and communities.
