Support NB3 Foundation Youth to the National Cross Country Race in Florida

The Notah Begay III (NB3) Foundation is proud to announce that 11 of the 50 NB3F XC Club runners recently qualified to compete in the USA Track & Field (USATF) National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships in Tallahassee, Florida on December 9, 2017. We humbly ask for your support and donations to send the 11 runners to Florida. Click here to donate online.

Your donation will cover airfare (approximately $410 roundtrip per person), hotel (approximately $110 per night) and meals (approximately $60 per day) for the 11 youth runners and their parents. Your contribution is a commitment to stand alongside the NB3 Foundation as we encourage our youth to test their strengths while competing with some of the best runners in the country.

NB3F XC Club runners represent different ages and tribes from across New Mexico. Only in its second year, the XC Club has exceeded expectations and runners, coaches and families have remained committed.

“These kids have practiced three times a week and competed in races every Saturday for 14 weeks. There is no doubt they are talented and dedicated,” said Clint Begay, Director of NB3FIT. “The kids come from different communities but we are one team, and most important part of it all is that they are being active.”

Since September, the NB3F XC Club competed in eight races in New Mexico, including the NB3FIT WEEK XC Race and the Region 10 Championship in El Paso, where the current 11 runners qualified for the championship race.

“I’m really proud of all the runners. Most of them finished top 10 in almost every race this season. The national race is a huge stage and a great opportunity for these young athletes,” said Clint. “We are most thankful to families and communities where we practice. It’s a good partnership that will continue and thrive.”

The NB3F XC Club is part of the NB3FIT program that also includes soccer and golf. The XC Club is part of the USATF Region 10 New Mexico Chapter, and every youth runner is registered with an official cross country number. The cross country curriculum is an evolving piece and the team is excited to get better for next year, added Clint.

It is a long way to Florida, and most of the youth have not traveled outside of New Mexico and this trip may be their first time on a plane. Families need financial support. Please consider lending your support as the NB3 Foundation works to shape the next generation of young leaders through sport, leadership and improved health.

Thank you to friends, family and community leaders who are helping to make this trip a success!
