Kortni Thul is an enrolled member of the Lower Sioux Indian Community of Morton, MN. Kortni obtained her AAS Degree in Early Childhood Education with a Specialization in Child and Family Studies from Rasmussen College, Mankato. Her passion for youth and family wellbeing began as she worked at the daycare located on her reservation. Kortni is currently working as Project Coordinator positioned in the Lower Sioux Community Health department since March 2016.
Kortni’s role involves working with tribal youth and families “to make the healthy choice the easy choice” in her community. She promotes healthier lifestyles by creating activities and classes for all ages including cooking classes, exercise classes, fitness and wellness days, and youth camps. She is also a staff representative on the Lower Sioux Health and Human Services Advisory Committee and assisted in creating a healthy foods, traditional tobacco, and physical activity initiative in her community.
