NB3FIT Curriculum and Jr. Golf
Clint Begay, Director of NB3FIT; and Corey Douma, Jr. Golf Coordinator, NB3 Foundation
This interactive session takes participants on the driving range to learn techniques and the fundamentals of golf much like the Native youth who participate in the NB3FIT programs. Participant takeaways: learn the core values of the NB3FIT curriculum and ways to implement similar learning structures and physical activities in tribal communities.
Clint Begay is the Director of NB3FIT Program for the Notah Begay III Foundation where he oversees the curriculum for the golf, soccer and cross country programs as well as the leadership and nutrition education component. He also manages NB3FIT’s program coaches and directly works with sponsors, such as Nike N7. Mr. Begay has a Bachelor’s degree the University of Hawaii-Hilo and was a caddie for the LPGA then on the PGA tour for 10 years. Mr. Begay is the brother of the Foundation’s founder and represents the Pueblos of San Felipe and Isleta and the Navajo Nation.
Corey Douma is the Junior Golf Coordinator for the Notah Begay III Foundation. He works closely with NB3FIT golf program and Native youth by teaching them the rules and etiquette of the game. Corey is from the Pueblo of Laguna where he resides with his family. He enjoys playing golf and spending time with his sons.
