The NB3 Foundation fights for the health and futures of Native American youth through multiple channels, including a variety of strategic programs.
Health & Wellness:
The NB3 Foundation Health and Wellness Program brings nutrition and health education to tribal communities to teach better habits. This program also is committed to research and the development of best practices and model programs.
NB3 Soccer promotes physical fitness and obesity and type 2 diabetes prevention as well as leadership development and self-esteem of youth participants. Through the development of model and evidence-based soccer programming, grants and technical assistance, the NB3 Soccer Program is committed to growing the sport of soccer among Native American youth as a vehicle to achieve increased health, wellness and leadership development.
NB3 Junior Golf promotes obesity and diabetes prevention and leadership development opportunities that are inherent in the game of golf. NB3 Junior Golf provides Native youth with access and opportunities to a sport not readily accessed by Native Americans before now. Golf among Native Americans is on the rise due in part to the success of our Founder, Notah Begay III, and to the growth of at least 70 tribally owned golf facilities. The NB3 Junior Golf Program is committed to growing the game of golf among Native American youth as a vehicle to achieve increased health, wellness and leadership development.
Our San Felipe Place-Based program is a model program to reduce the obesity and diabetes rates among San Felipe youth through comprehensive and integrated sports, health, leadership and community development initiatives in the community. The goal is to develop model and evidence-based programming through our place-based programming at San Felipe Pueblo that can be eventually scaled and replicated to serve other Native American communities in New Mexico and nationwide to aid them in their fight against the epidemic of childhood obesity and type 2 diabetes in Indian Country.
The NB3 Foundation is committed to being a bridge to direct investments through grants to support model program development in the areas of youth sports, obesity and type 2 diabetes prevention and leadership development in tribal communities nationwide.
Through these programs, we hope to make a real difference in Indian Country and create a better future for its people.
